Silverlight components not showing up

May 7, 2009 at 9:44 AM

The silverlight visual earth component doesn't work in my environment. I followed the readme file, the visual earth map is displayed in the browser but it doesn't seem to connect to the list.

I set the following initparams:

<param  name="initParams" value="siteUrl=http://se240-1/,descriptionColumn=kolomtest,descriptionIsImage=false,title=testsilverlightlijst,listName=testsilverlightlijst,latColumn=lat,longColumn=long" />

I created a list on the same level at: http://se240-1/Lists/testsilverlightlijst/AllItems.aspx

The list contains the following items:

title (one text line)
lat (one text line)
long (one text line)
kolomtest (one text line)

Am i doing something wrong? Is the list wel configurated or is there something wrong with the init params?

I hope anybody responds to this issue!

Hi!

your problem is the "siteUrl", you don't have write the url of your localhost:port, if you don't have a subsite, this value must be value="siteUrl=.descriptionColumn=kolomtest...."

In page.xaml.cs there is the following code:

<font size="2">

</font>

//no way to know if the URI contains a subsite or just a folder name

<font size="2">

</font>

//need to pass this in as a paramater

<font size="2">

</font>

if (parms.Keys.Contains(subSiteParam))<font size="2">

{ uri = scheme +

</font>

"://" + HtmlPage.Document.DocumentUri.Host + "/" + parms[subSiteParam] + "/_vti_bin/Lists.asmx"; }<font size="2">

</font>

else uri = scheme + "://" + HtmlPage.Document.DocumentUri.Host + "/_vti_bin/Lists.asmx";

regards!!

I am having the same issue listed above.

I read the readme file and have the map displayed, but it is not connecting to the list.

I have used the following initparams:

<param  name="initParams" value="siteUrl=sites/jessedickert,descriptionColumn=Description,descriptionIsImage=false,title=TestMap,listName=MapList,latColumn=Latitude,longColumn=Longitude" />

I am sure I am having the same issue above where my issue is with the siteUrl, but I have tried ever different combination I can think of.  My list resides at http://www.oesx1.com/sites/jessedickert/Lists/Map%20List/AllItems.aspx

Any responses will be much appreciated.

Thanks!!
